Prerogative [puh-rog-uh-tiv] n. - a right, privilege, etc., limited to a specific person or to persons of a particular category
Most likely this word is supposed to be used to identify a right someone has but someone else doesn’t have for whatever reason, most likely due to rank or standing. However I use it a little more broadly. I use it to identify any right I or someone else has and are free to exercise. I mostly use it in the context of the planning and organization of people or with regards to the other people make.
We are going to extent the invitation to her and if she doesn’t want to come then that’s her prerogative.
Nyx’s Words of Wisdom-Emperor Arcana
Alright now that I’m free from the prison some people call engineering college it’s time to pick up we’re we left off. After the Empress Arcana phase is over Nyx says:

Where Empress represents the Mother figure the Emperor represents the Father figure. Most people look to their father as a role model for strength and courage. This is why in the games Personas of the Emperor Aracana are “the bravest” of all Personas. This is also why Nyx characterizes the Emperor Arcana as having “courage in the face of doubt.”
The next person the fool meets on his journey is the emperor or father figure. From him the fool learns about rules and order in the world. In Persona 3 the Emperor Social Link is with Hidetoshi Odagiri, a member of the student council who kinda has a rod up his ass when it comes to enforcing the school rules.
This professor is my new favorite person in the world.

Today’s word is something that should be really easy to incorporate into your every life (or at least for me it was…):
conducive [kuhn-doo-siv] (adj) - tending to produce; contributive; helpful; favorable (usually followed by to )
Basically what this means is that something is beneficial towards some purpose. It describes something that helps or contributes positively to whatever end you desire. I say this is easy to use everyday because it can replace words like helpful, useful or beneficial in certain contexts and provide a more accurate way of expressing the idea if it applies. For example:
Good study habits are conducive to your GPA. and Disrespectful teachers are not conducive to a student’s learning experience.
Unfortunately it seems to me that most of the time I use this word it’s with a “not” in front of it. I guess it just reflects how many things are not helpful in this world…
Random Words of Wisdom - On Learning
“My understanding is not that hard to pull off just keep an open mind, don’t be intimidated by big words, don’t be afraid to ask questions, keep an eye on the bigger picture and you can reason through almost anything.”

Sometimes I’m praised for my relatively in-depth understanding of supposedly difficult subjects like calculus, chemistry, etc. I said this to a very good friend of mine after had offered me such praise in an attempt to boil down my subconscious methodology for understanding such things. This is just my general outlook and my attitude towards learning anything new. In my opinion anybody is capable of understanding things like math, science or anything that’s supposedly difficult by living by these principles. Allow me elaborate:
- keep an open mind - No matter it is: calculus, chemistry, quantum mechanics don’t just write it off as hard and think that it’s beyond you. Human minds thought up these things and your mind is just as human as theirs is. Therefore your human mind can at least understand it.
- don’t be intimidated by big words - Knowledgeable people like to throw around big words (I know cuz I do this) but don’t get hung up on them. Concentrate on the words you do know and see if you can fill in the blanks later. I’ve actually picked up a lot of new vocabulary words just by deducing them from context.
- don’t be afraid to ask questions - I see it as a sign of true intelligence when someone asks a question. However people get really self-conscious about this for some reason saying they don’t want people to think that they’re dumb. Rest assured in a school environment, the opinion of your peers doesn’t matter at all and teachers get paid to answer questions so they better welcome it. So there’s no need to fear asking questions. If you do I guarantee you’ll learn more.
- keep an eye on the bigger picture - It’s really easy to get lost in the details of some convoluted subjects but keeping the general idea can help organize it all together. If you focus only minute details you risk losing sight of the bigger picture. This is important because if have a firm grasp on the general idea then the specifics can be narrowed down from it. Quite often this will allow you derived the finer points from the general idea (like in thermodynamics). If not then it can at least aid in remembering the finer details and why they’re there.
- reason through it- Reason and logic is a very powerful thing. If you have the general idea down then often you can reason through why the the finer point can about and what they are. Proper application of this technique frees you from a lot memorization and increases your flexibility to answer questions. I do this a lot in areas like biology which usually people say its a lot of memorization. I make a point to memorize only the general concepts and reason through the rest and I’ve always done much better than the actual bio majors. This last one demonstrates if you truly understand something because it doesn’t take much to just recite and memorize but if you can reason through why it is then by definition you understand it.
In general, have confidence in yourself and your mental capabilities. There’s no such thing as “hard” it’s just “unfamiliar.” And learning is nothing more than just familiarizing yourself with it.
Nyx’s Words of Wisdom - Empress Arcana
Alright after the Magician Nyx Arcana Shifts to the Empress Arcana where he says:
“Celebrate life’s grandeur…its brilliance…its magnificence.”

I like this one it’s very inspirational and awe-inspiring but anyways…The Empress Arcana represents the mother. The woman who takes care of you as a child and the Mother Earth which provides nourishment. The Empress represents nature and sensation Taking in the wonders of the mother earth and nature is essential to living a fulfilling life. If one can master this then they would be free of any resentment for their environment. This is why Nyx say to “celebrate” the “grandeur…brilliance…magnificence” of life and the world. This is especially important if you live in New England where complaining about the weather is practically a hobby. Although it is important to be cautious of nature resenting it won’t do anything. If you can learn to appreciate the beauty of all the seasons then the changes throughout the year won’t as annoying. If done right you can come to see each season change as something to look forward to.
The first person the Fool comes to know on his journey through life is his mother. Both his mother that takes care of him and the Mother Earth that nurtures him in a broader sense. This being his first experience of the world outside of him the Fool is thrilled at all the sights, sounds and natural abundance the world has to offer. Many of the Empress Personas in the games can be described as “motherly” such as Gabriel and especially Isis, the mother to Egyptian god Horus.
